Change Page Margins in LibreOffice Writer
In this training, we will look at how to change the default page margins using a default template. This will walk through the steps to create a template. The simplest way to accomplish this task, especially if you want something other than the default 0.79 inch (2 centimeter) margins. This will involve creating a new default template or use in creating new files.
Note: This is created using LibreOffice Community Edition 7.6.4.1
Change Page Margins Using a Template
Creating a Template
From the main menu, choose Format > Page Style

On the Page tab, set the margins to 1.00” (or whatever you wish as the default). Click OK.

From the main menu, choose File > Templates > Save As Template.

Enter a template name and select a category to save the template under. Tick the Set as default template, if desired, and click Save.

Managing Templates
From the main menu, choose File > Templates > Manage Templates

Managing a template is as simple as right clicking on a template. In the right click menu we have: Open, Edit, Set as Default, Rename, Delete, Move and Export. Move allows for relocating the template into a new category and export allows for creating a backup. And of course, templates shown can be filtered by document type and categories.

The Manage menu on the far right allows for Category management (New, Rename, Delete) as well as resetting the default template and importing templates.
